Interesting Local People

Narooma, Kianga, Dalmeny, and Tilba have some interesting people who have chosen our area as their home.  Famous people, not so famous people, and just folks whom have made an impact on our region.  Do you know someone like this?  Submit their details for our "Interesting Locals" articles.

Did you know that, until recently, the first woman to swim the Nile River lived in Narooma?  Did you know that two survivors of an ill fated United Airlines Jumbo Jet disaster still live in Narooma?  Did you know that Stevie Right, lead singer of the Easy-Beats lives in Dalmeny?

Here at Narooma Online we would like to tell you all about some of our more interesting characters. We want you to tell us about some of the characters that you know in the area.

For example, Margaret Dixon (of Narooma until recently - previously Margaret Feather) swam the English Channel a number of times.  She was the first woman to swim the Nile River and received personal congratulations from the President of Egypt.  Margaret and her Husband Ron (recently deceased) lived in Hillcrest Avenue for a number of years before moving to Kiaga where they stayed for another 5 years before moving to the Murrey River region.
