The Monty Awards are a small business award provided by the local Chamber of Commerce.  We used to have a yearly Small Business Awards but for some reason they disappeared for a few years but they are back and are now called "The Monty's".  I have no idea why they are called that, but they are and we must live with it.

A number of small local businesses were recognised on the night as being the best of the best and we offer our congratulations to each and everyone of them.  But one business deserves a special mention and that is Linda's Sweets & Treats.

It all started with a small shop selling music and renting videos, but now it is like an entire universe of shopping.  Of course they still do DVD Movies (no videos anymore) but they also sell Pies, Cakes, Lollies, Coffee, Milkshakes, and much more.  It wont be long before you can get your car serviced on the premises while you wait for your Coffee & Cake.

Linda listened to what her customers were saying, and that was "why isn't anything open when we want something?" and she did something about it.  She diversified her business in an effort to provide for her customers.

Linda and her excellent staff have done a great job and deserve more than just a Gold Monty - they should all be on the Queens Honours List next year.
